Privacy policy
Effective 15 October 2026. This policy covers the KalviApp phone app (Android and iPhone) and the KalviApp website at app.kalviapp.in.
KalviApp is run by Saravanakumar GN ("we"). This page says what we collect, why we collect it, who helps us run KalviApp, and how you delete your account. If you have a question, write to kalviapp@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, your email address and an account id. Apple lets you hide your email; then we receive a private relay address from Apple instead.
- Your tests and study. Your answers, scores, time taken, the tests you joined, your study sessions, your mistakes and bookmarks, your topic lists in My syllabus, and settings such as your exam and question language.
- Your reports. When you ask for a detailed report, we make a PDF of it and keep it so you can open it again.
- Purchases. If you buy KalviApp Pro, the App Store or Google Play handles the payment. We never see your card or bank details. We receive which plan you bought, when, and whether it is active.
- Device and app information. A notification token so we can send you notifications, crash reports when the app fails, how the app is used (screens opened, buttons used), and a check that requests come from the real KalviApp app.
- Ads. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. On iPhone and iPad the ads are not personalised, and KalviApp does not track you across other apps or websites. On Android, AdMob may use your phone's advertising id; you can reset or limit it in your phone's settings.
The study material and questions you download are kept on your phone. We do not collect your contacts, photos, location or files.
Why we use it
- To sign you in and keep your tests, results and study the same on your phone and the website.
- To mark your tests, show your results and make your reports.
- To email you a report when you ask for one, to the email address of your sign-in.
- To send notifications you can turn off, such as a test starting or results being out.
- To give Pro to people who bought it, and to find and fix problems in the app.
We do not sell your information. We do not use your information to show you ads; the ads in the free version come from AdMob as described above.
Google account information
If you sign in with Google, KalviApp receives only your name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to sign you in, show your name in the app, and send your reports to your email when you ask. We do not use them for ads, we do not sell them, and we do not share them with anyone except the service providers below who help us run KalviApp. KalviApp's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who helps us run KalviApp
- Google Firebase: sign-in, notifications, crash reports, usage analytics and app checks.
- Supabase: the database and file storage that keep your account, tests, results and reports.
- Vercel: hosting for the KalviApp website.
- RevenueCat: records your App Store or Google Play purchase against your account.
- Zoho ZeptoMail: sends the report emails.
- OpenAI: writes the short summary in a detailed report. It receives only your score in each topic and the test and subject names, never your name or email.
- Google AdMob: ads in the free version.
Each of them may use the information only to do this work for us.
How long we keep it, and deleting your account
We keep your information while you have a KalviApp account. You can delete your account at any time:
- in the app: Account, then Delete account;
- on the website: app.kalviapp.in/account/delete.
Deleting your account removes your tests, results, reports, study history, mistakes, bookmarks and topic lists at once, and removes your sign-in. Copies in our backups are removed within 7 days. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account. If you cannot open the app, email kalviapp@gmail.com from your sign-in address and we will delete it for you.
Children
KalviApp is for people preparing for exams and is not meant for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Your information travels over encrypted connections and is stored with access limited to your own account. No method of storage or transfer is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new date.
